So, it looks like I have sold a few books at the Christian Bookstore, and Ivy's Books, in Victoria. Very Encouraging! I do hope that the market is opening up with the opening up of covid. My plan is to discuss book signings with the book stores and see if the market has opened enough to accommodate that. At any rate, being holed up for months, it will be a nice trip. I will be able to see something different.
Looking forward to this. I have been waiting a long while, since My Delightfully Dysfunctional Family came out at the end of September 2020.
This is the invitation that I will be handing out to friends and neighbors. I hope many attend. Anderton Gardens is a beautiful, 2 acre garden, run by volunteers like Bruce, (my husband) and myself, and about 80 others. It has the most beautiful flowers, and birds - even eagles. People may enter via donation.
This is Bruce (my husband) and myself. In this photo he is suffering from a knee injury
Now at this time, (April 23, 2021) I am suffering from a knee injury. Ha! Ha! We take turns. I am considering reaching out to other modes of marketing, due to the fact that I may have
lots of traffic on my website and my facebook page, but it is not generating many sales.
It can be somewhat disheartening.
So it is time for Festival Season. There are lots of writers festivals and workshops, some even on marketing your book:
Festival of Story Tellers
Writers Summit - put on by Federation of B.C. Writers.
Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts
Victoria Festival of Authors - and others
I have been offered some marketing help from Reader's Magnet so after I check them out thoroughly, I will decide
on whether or not to pay the cost for their assistance. apparently they do very good web pages. We shall see.
